ERIE, Pa. – The Marauders took advantage of a strong Sunday showing to record their top finish of the fall, taking third place in the Gannon Invitational after the Mondays round was canceled due to severe weather.
Millersville (36-over-par) finished 17 strokes behind Franklin Pierce (19-over-par) and 15 strokes behind host Gannon (21-over-par) in the lone round of play.
Emma Schotsch again led the Marauders as she tied for ninth after shooting a 7-over-par. Schotsch's performance was led by a strong front nine that saw her finish even-to-par while recording a pair of birdies. She has been the top 'Ville finisher in all three fall tournaments, placing in the top-10 each time.
Taylor Hileman tied for 14th after shooting eight-over-par. She also played her best golf on the front nine, closing out with back-to-back birdies to finish 1-over-par on the front. In total she was 8-over-par at the end of the round.
Amanda Steier (10-over-par) tied for 21st while Sarah Lawrie (11-over-par) tied for 24th and Amanda Wolf (29-over-par) took 55th.
Phisonlaya Ruayruen of Franklin Pierce won the individual title at 4-under-par. Zoey McClain (2-over-par) and Ditte Petersen (3-over-par) of Gannon took second and third, respectively. Click here for full results.
