Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team matched up against some of the best players in the region over the weekend, and two of Millersville's doubles teams reached the round of eight at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships.

Millersville's top duo of Dylan Tull and Frank Yanni and the No. 2 team of Zach Pernia and Jasper de Koning both worked their way into the quarterfinals before being bounced from the bracket. Tull and Yanni topped West Virginia State's Alex Cottrell and Mateo Flores by a 6-1 score in the first round and then topped Fairmont State's Elia Barozzi and Ken Watanabe 6-4 to move on. Perniz and de Koning scored a 6-3 win over Davis & Elkins' Hussain Hamide and Vinicius Azeredo in round one and then beat Bluefield State's Juan Manuel de Freitas and Luis Agullo Diaz Munio, 6-3.

The runs for both teams ended in the quarters. Tull and Yanni lost 6-2 to the eventual champs, Jowan Rawson and Lennert Stevens of Charleston. Pernia and de Koning dropped a 6-4 decision to another Charleston team.

In the singles bracket, four of the five Marauders lost their opening round matches. Tull was the lone Marauder to advance, winning 6-0, 6-2 over Mercyhurst's Juan Carlos Hernandez Briones. Tull's run was cut down in the round of 32 in a three-set heartbreaker. Teddy Razafindratsima of Bluefield State rallied after Tull took set one, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.

The Marauders that fell in the opening round each played one more consolation match. Shaurya Piplani evened his record for the weekend with an 8-6 win over West Liberty's Derek Roehner. De Koning also picked up a win over a familiar foe, defeating Azeredo, who he saw in doubles competition, 8-4.
