
Millersville takes fourth at Mercyhurst Invitational

NORTH EAST, Pa. – The Millersville women's golf team placed fourth out of 11 teams in the Mercyhurst Invitational.
'Ville remained in fourth place at the conclusion of both days of play following a pair of consistent performances. The Marauder carded a team score of 122-over-par over the 36-hole tournament, shooting a 350 on day one and a 348 on day two for a total score of 698. Gannon won the tournament with a 47-over-par while host Mercyhurst took second at 75-over-par. Millersville finished 20 shots behind Allegheny for third at 102-over-par.
Emma Schotsch paced the team by taking 10th as an individual. She carded a 23-over-par after a stellar second round that saw her shoot just 5-over-par. In that round Schotsch did not score worse than a bogey on any hole while recording 11 consecutive pars from holes three through 13.
Amanda Wolf placed second for the team carding a 32-over-par and took 20th overall. Amanda Steier (33-over-par) tied for 21st, and Taylor Hileman (34-over-par) tied for 24th. Sarah Lawrie rounded of the group taking 35th at 39-over-par.
Sarash White of Gannon took the individual title at 5-over-par while Camile O'Halloran of Allegheny took second at 7-over-par.
Millersville continues play in the Erie area Sunday and Monday in the Gannon Invitational.
