
Marauders finish ninth at Mercyhurst Fall Invitational

NORTH EAST, Pa. - Led by a 12th-place finish from Bobby Lugiano, the Millersville men's golf placed ninth in a field of 14 teams at the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational.
Millersville finished the 36-hole tournament at Lake View Country Club with a 24-over-par team total, shooting a 308 on day one and closing with a 312. The Marauders sat in a tie for seventh after the first round but were unable to gain ground. They finished four shots behind eight-place Glenville State and five behind Allegheny College.
Gannon won the team title in convincing fashion, posting a 9-under-par score. The Golden Knights shot under par in both rounds and shot a tournament-best 6-under in round one.
Lugian led the Marauders with 2-over-par 74s in back-to-back rounds. He finished in a six-way tie for 12th. Carl Ernst finished at 11-over-par for the tournament. Ty Morral finished at 12-over-par, Noah Keener shot rounds of 79 and 81 for a 16-over-par score. Drew VonStein rallied with a second-round 79 after shooting an 85 in the first round. Christopher Knox shot 82 in both rounds.
Gannon's Abe HOlmes and Michael Wareham shared the tournament's low score at 3-under-par.
Millersville continues play in the Erie area Sunday and Monday in the Gannon Invitational.
