LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Marauders (14-14, 2-0 PSAC) went 3-1 over the past week, and sophomore Gabby D'Ottavio led the Marauder offense along the way. The corner infielder slashed .462/.462/1.154 as she went 6-for-13 at the plate with three home runs, eight RBIs and four runs scored. She struck out just once in those 13 at bats.
D'Ottavio was the catalyst for the Marauder offense in the teams PSAC East doubleheader sweep of West Chester, as she hit a home run in the first inning of each end of the twin billing. She put 'Ville up 4-0 with a grand slam in game one and 2-0 with her two-run blast in game two. Both games would be decided by one run.
"Gabby has just stuck to the process and worked really hard at practice," Marauder head coach Jen Probst said. "She goes into each at bat like it's a new game, new opportunity. I am also really proud of her teammates getting quality at bats before her to make those home runs even more impactful."
D'Ottavio now leads the team with a .361 average over 25 games and she is second on the team in hits (26) and slugging percentage (.583). She is the first Marauder to win a PSAC weekly award in the 2022 season.
Millersville is back in action this Saturday, April 9, for a conference doubleheader at Mansfield.
