Woelfling, Hauf set program records ESU Invitational

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville University track and field team competed at the East Stroudsburg All-American Meet on Saturday. There was no team scoring at the meet, but Marauders had plenty of standout performances as individuals.
 
In total, the 'Ville recorded nine wins, four NCAA marks and 17 PSAC qualifying marks.
 
The Marauders received program records from Hannah Woelfling in the discus and Darian Hauf, who broke her own record from last weekend, in the pole vault.

  • Woelfling won the discus with a mark of 163-0** as she set a new program record, besting the previous distance of 160-8 set by Sunflower Greene at the 2019 PSAC Championships. Woelflings distance fell just shy of the conference record of 166-11 set by Jayne Beatty of Slippery Rock in 1985. Her distance is also a top-20 in the NCAA this season. Aliyah Striver followed Woelfling as she took second place with a distance of 148-5*.
  • Haufs first place finish in the pole vault (12-11 ½**) also set a new meet and stadium record as the freshman continues to improve on her pre-existing program records. The height is a top-20 in the NCAA this year. Megan Malecki (10-11 ¾*) took fifth in the event.  
  •  Lyric Williams (58.64*) and Mia Carson (59.86*) took second and seventh in the 400-meter. Williams set a new season best with her time.
  • Aurora Conrad took first in the 100-meter (12.46*) winning the event by .05 seconds. She also won the 200-meter (25.68*) while Emma Elwell (25.89*) took third.
  • Aubrey Sydnor (2:19.80*) and Abbey Sullivan (2:19.88*) provided an explosive finish to the 800-meter, taking first and second place in the race.
  • In relays: the quartet of Hauf, Gabby Karch, Conrad and Elwell took first in the 4x100 relay with a time of 47.93. Williams, Carson, Karch and Sydnor took first in the 4x400 coming in at 3:59.14. Both times were new season bests for the groups.
  • Striver won the shot put (45-10 ¾**) while Woelfling placed third at (42-3 ½*).
  • The Marauders had four PSAC marks in the hammer with Striver taking first (179-5**) Maddy Downs taking fourth (151-3*) Kandice Liebl taking sixth (143-6*) and Cassie Sharrow taking seventh (139-10*).

The Marauders return to action for the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg next Saturday, April 30. First events kick off at 9:30 a.m.
