Striver, Woelfling record NCAA distances at Shippensburg Invitational

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville University track and field team competed at the Shippensburg Mid-Week Invitational on Wednesday. There was no team scoring at the meet, but several Marauders had standout performances as individuals.
 
In total, 'Ville recorded five wins, two NCAA marks and 12 PSAC qualifying marks.
 
The Marauders were ranked as the No. 2 team in the Atlantic Region and the No. 30 team in the nation in this week's USTFCCCA poll.
 
MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Darian Hauf took fourth in the 100-meter at 12.48*. She also won the pole vault with a height of 12-0 ¾* falling just short of the program record she set on Saturday.
  • Aliyah Striver and Hannah Woelfling took first and second in the shot put with distances of 45-2 ¼* and 42-9 ½*, respectively. The duo switched spots on the podium in the discus, with Woelfling taking first place at 154-10** and Striver following at 144-11*. Woelflings distance was a new PR. Maddy Downs took sixth in the discus with a new PR of 125-8*.
  • The Marauders had two NCAA marks and five PSAC distances in the hammer toss.
    • Woelfling took first (193-8**)
    • Stiver took second (179-9**)
    • Downs took fifth (146-0*)
    • Cassie Sharrow took sixth (145-2*) which was a PR
    • Kandice Liebl rounded out the group in ninth (141-4*)
  • Sharrow also took first in the javelin at 125-3*.
