Marauders place 17th at NCAA Regional Preview

VICTOR, N. Y. – The Millersville men's golf team finished in 17^th place out of the 23 teams competing in the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Preview. Bobby Lugiano led the Marauders in the preview, finishing tied for seventh overall with a 150 through two rounds played. Lugiano's performance marks his third consecutive top-10 finish, following a fifth-place finish at the Crofton Invitational and a second-place finish at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational.

Millersville will now gear up for the IUP Invitational (Apr. 18-19) to close out the 2021-22 schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Marauders finished day one tied for 13^th place, shooting a 314 collectively. Lugiano led 'Ville and was tied for 22nd overall with a 76. Noah Keener and Christopher Knox were the next Marauders in line, both shooting a 78 to tie for 44^th.
Millersville finished day two with a 314 as well, leaving the team with a 628 overall score. Lugiano improved his day-one score by two strokes (74) and was able to jump from 22^nd to seventh place with a 150 overall score. Knox finished with the next best score, shooting a 78 again in day two to earn him a share of 49^th place with a 156, while Keener finished behind him with an 80 (158 overall) which earned him a tie for 65^th.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

The Marauders finished 33 strokes behind invite champion Davis & Elkins College and three strokes back from Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe, Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
Joining Lugiano, Knox, and Keener in the Marauder top-four was Ty Morral who shot an 82 in both rounds to give Millersville its 628 total score.
