MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Playing without two of its usual six starters, the Millersville men's tennis team fell to Edinboro 6-1 in PSAC action Sunday.
Millersville (3-5, 0-2 PSAC) has now dropped its last four matches while Edinboro improved to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in PSAC action.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• No. 1 doubles featured a rematch of October's PSAC Doubles Championship title match. While Millersville's Carlos Martinez-Lucas and Frank Yanni won the first meeting, Edinboro's Bruno Saccio and Rocco Palombarini avenged that loss Sunday by a 6-3 score. The Edinboro duo snapped a 10-match winning streak for Martinez-Lucas and Yanni.
• Dylan Tull and Lino Morin picked up a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, but it wasn't enough to secure the point, as Edinboro's Kaio Sacchi and Ruben Acuna won by a 6-1 score in the No. 3 spot.
• Millersville played singles with regulars Yanni and Zach Pernia on the sidelines. Edinboro took advantage of Millersville's makeshift lineup, winning five of the six match-ups. Only Dylan Tull, who stepped up into the No. 3 slot, scored a win for the Marauders. Tull topped Gustavo Martins in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 10-3.
