Women's golf places seventh at Brown Invitational

PINEHURST, N.C. – Competing in their first event of the spring semester, the Millersville University women's golf team took seventh out of the nine teams participating in the Brown Invitational.

• Ville returns to the course on March 21, as the Marauders head to Crofton, Md. to compete in the Crofton Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Millersville took seventh overall, finishing with a 715 over its two rounds, 75 strokes off first-place Ferris State. The Marauders finished ahead of West Chester (751) and Fairmont State (773).
- Freshman, Charley Kirby, led 'Ville on the weekend, as she recorded a team-high 84 in the first round and 88 in the second round for a 172 total. Kirby's team low 172 would tie her for 26th overall as an individual out of the 45 participants.
- Emma Schotsch led the Marauders in second-round action, as she recorded an 84. She finished the weekend shooting 174.
- Taylor Heleman (184), Cassandra Vogel (190, and Amanda Wolf (192) rounded out the scorers for Millersville.
- Millersville recorded six birdies, which was the fourth most out of the nine teams competing.
- Alayna Eldred of Ferris State would take the individual title, as she shot a 151 over her two rounds.
