Women's golf places second at Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Millersville women's golf team finished in 2nd place out of the nine teams competing in the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational this week. Charley Kirby led 'Ville with a 167 through two rounds of play, this score was good enough to land her in 3rd place overall. Kirby was followed by Taylor Hileman (176/T5th) and Emma Schotsch (179/T9th) who also earned top-10 finishes. This is the Marauders' second consecutive second-place finish, following their previous performance at the Crofton Invitational. West Chester finished in the lead, with Millersville taking the second spot, and California (Pa.) rounding out the top three.
Millersville now has four events left this spring, the Millersville Invitational (Apr. 9), Kutztown Invitational (Apr. 10), Alvernia Invitational (Apr. 19), and the PSAC Championship (Apr. 22-24) to close out the schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Marauders finished day one with a share of 1st place, shooting a 357 collectively. Kirby led 'Ville and was tied for 2nd place out of all participants with an 85. Hileman was the next Marauder in line, tying for 6th with a 19, while Emma Schotsch recorded a 91 to crack the top-10 as well.
- Millersville finished day two with a 346, 11 strokes better the group's day one total, leaving the team with a 703 overall score. Kirby improved her scored by three strokes in round two, shooting an 82. Hileman (87) and Schotsch (88) followed Kirby with improved scores as well.
- The Marauders finished one stroke behind invite champion West Chester.
- Kirby, Hileman, and Schotsch led the Marauders throughout the invite, while Amanda Wolf (184/16th) and Cassandra Vogel (187/ T18th) followed with top-20 finishes of their own.
