Millersville women's golf places third at Clarion Invitational

BROOKVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville women's golf team continued its run of top finishes by taking third in the Clarion Fall Invitational at Pinecrest Country Club.
The Marauders finished the two-round tournament on the par-72 track with a 687, finishing nine shots behind runner-up Mercyhurst. Gannon ran away with the tournament title, shooting a 616. Millersville finished ahead of West Chester, Kutztown and host PennWest Clarion. Millersville has now finished fourth or better in all six tournaments this fall.
Leading the way for the Marauders was Amanda Wolf's 25-over-par score which landed her in 10th place. She opened with an 86 on Sunday and matched her career-best round of 83 on Monday. It was her first top-10 finish of the season.
Taylor Hileman also made an improvement in round two, following up Sunday's 87 with an 84, which placed her in a tie for 13th. Emma Schotsch made a big move up the leaderboard in the second round. After opening with a 97, Schotsch posted a team-best score of 79--her fifth round in the 70s this fall. Schotsch finished in a tie for 18th while Sarah Lawrie placed in a tie for 20th and Amanda Steier tied for 25th in the 37-player field.
Millersville plays its final event of the fall season, the Lebanon Invitational, on Oct. 24.
