Gerner Leads Millersville at WCU Battlefield Classic

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — Erica Gerner tied for 10th with a 10-over-par 82, leading the Millersville University women's golf team in the WCU Battlefield Classic after rain canceled the rest of the event.
The round took place on the par-72 course at The Links At Gettysburg. Lex Pfeufer followed in 14th with an 14-over par, and Sabrina Swope tied for 19th with a 18-over.
"Erica Gerner hit a lot of great shots and kept a great attitude which lead her to a top 10 finish," said head coach Matt Shur. "Her game has only gotten better as the semester has gone along."
Anabelle McGowan and Ashden Stitt each tied for 27th after shooting 22-over par, while Rachel Schuda placed 31st with a 26-over par. Team scores were not provided in the extracted results.
"The team didn't have their best stuff but was able to battle until the end and post a decent finish," said Shur.
