LEBANON, Pa. - With four finishers in the top seven and Emma Schotsch taking medalist honors, the Millersville women's golf team closed its fall season by winning the Lebanon Valley College Invitational.
The Marauders posted a 328 for its second lowest round of the fall. The Marauders edged Alvernia by six shots and finished 34 shots in front of Bloomsburg. It was Millersville's first team win since April of 2022 and the second-straight season winning the event.
Schotsch posted her sixth sub-80 round of the fall, posting a 6-over 78 to top teammate Taylor Hileman and Alvernia's McKylie Boreman by two. It was the first tournament victory of Schotsch's career. Hileman earned runner-up status on a tiebreaker. Hileman shot 2-under-par 34 on the back nine.
"The girls played their best tournament of the fall," said Millersville head coach Scott Vandegrift. "Last year when we won it was our four and five ranked players that were the low scores. Today, Emma played three and Taylor played two. What they are finding is that we don't know where our low four are coming from. When talking to them they don't really care who is the low. They like how they are coming together and coming up with good team scores. They are starting to build something im preparation for the spring."
Amanda Steier and Amanda Wolf tied for seventh with 13-over-par 75s to round out Millersville's counting scores. Sarah Lawrie shot an 88 to tie for ninth, earning her second career top-10.
