LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Standout freshman Darian Hauf earned her first weekly honor in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, being named PSAC Field Athlete of the Week following her record setting performance at the Coach I Open this past Saturday.
Hauf broke her own program record in the pole vault with a height of 12-6. She first set the program record in December during her collegiate debut as she hit 12-1 ¼. Both of Hauf's marks are good for an NCAA Provisional Qualifier.
This is the second conference honor in as many weeks of competition for the Marauders Indoor Track and Field team. Graduate standout Aliyah Striver won the same award in December following the Marauders only other event of the season.
REACTION FROM HEAD COACH ANDY YOUNG
"Darian has worked hard to get better and it's nice to see her results and the recognition of her work. She has a very exciting future. We are very happy to have a hard-working group of athletes and it's exciting to see their results overall. To win a second Field Athlete of the Week, recognizing both Aliyah Striver and Darian Hauf so far this season, says a lot about the talent and work ethic of these athletes."
UP NEXT
The Marauders return to on Jan. 28 as Millersville will feature split squad action. Half of the team will compete in the Great Dane Classic in Staten Island, while the rest of the team will head to Lancaster to compete in the Mini-Dip Invitational.
