MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Millersville University field hockey head coach Shelly Behrens and assistant Margaret Thorwart welcomes the addition of eight student-athletes for the 2021 recruiting class. This year's class features five players from Pennsylvania, one from New Jersey, one from Chile, and one from Canada. After not competing in the 2020-2021 school year, the field hockey team is excited for and anticipating the start of their season for the first time in two years.
"When you look at our 2021 class you see a wide ranging and versatile group of young women," says Behrens. "I was very selective about who was joining us, and in going through the pandemic year there were a lot of kids who just wanted to decide and commit. We had developed some relationships with these young women pre-COVID and that gave us a good starting point with the remaining class. The weeding out of the 2021 class has been a positive as every one of these ladies chose Millersville as much as we chose them.
"They have developed their own bonds, and we are truly excited to not just have them on campus in the fall but to put them in the position to thrive and continue their individual and collective growth on and off the field," said Behrens.
The class includes: Grace Murray (Exeter, Pa./Exeter), Elizabeth Winters (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic), Saige Shine (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), Morgan Lennon (Elverson, Pa./Twin Valley), Kerstin Koons (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg), Morgan Klaiss (N.J./Kingsway Regional), Jacinta Bravo Mosso (Santiago, Chile/Redland School), Caroline Griffin (Napanee, Ontario/Napanee District).Gallery: (5-19-2021) 2021 Field Hockey Recruiting Class
