
Men’s golf takes fifth at Charleston Invitational

CHARLESTON, W.V. – The Millersville men's golf team claimed fifth at the Charleston Invitational, placing above PSAC rivals Mercyhurst, California (PA), and West Chester.
The Marauders saw their best round on day one shooting 310 (+30). They shot 315 (+35) in round two for a two-round total of 625 (+65), edging out Mercyhurst by a single stroke.
Host Charleston claimed the first-place spot with a two-round total of 599 (+39). Jordan Hyland from Davis & Elkins College won individual first shooting consecutive 74's for a two-day total of 148 (+8).
Brady Erb finished on top for Millersville tying for seventh, marking his second top-10 finish of the season and fifth of his career. Erb shot one stroke short of his 36-hole best, recording a two-round score of 151 (+11).
Bailey Neveker saw his first top-25 finish tying for 18th with a two-round score of 158 (+11). Neveker shot a new career-best 18-hole score in the first round coming in five over (77).
Bobby Lugiano bested his 36-hole score with a two-round total of 159 (+19). His round one 76 (+4) marks a new 18-hole best for the freshman. He finished tied for 23rd, his first career top-25 finish.
Ronnie Yanoski moved up 13 spots from his day-one ranking to tie for 32nd. He improved his round two score by five strokes and finished with a two-round total of 161 (+21).
Carl Ernst also tied for 31st with a career- best 36-hole score, 161 (+21). The freshman also shot his career-best 18-hole score in the first round, 78 (+6).
Christopher Knox moved up 12 spots from his day one ranking ending the tournament tied for 47th with a two-round score of 164 (+24).
Millersville returns to the course on April 5 and 6 for the West Chester Invitational at the Penn Oaks Golf Club. It will be the Marauders' last tournament before the PSAC Championships.
