CROFTON, Md. - The Millersville men's golf team tied for second place out of 10 teams at the two-day Crofton Invitational. The Marauders shot a 626 (+50).
Millersville started off round one with a 317 (+29), but improved its score by eight shooting a 309 (+21) in the second round.
The Marauders tied for second with fellow PSAC schools West Chester and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Davis and Elkins College took first with a two-round score of 614 (+38).
Jack Angelucci from Mercyhurst won the individual first-place award shooting an even 72 in both rounds for a final score of 144 (E).
"What was interesting was the overwhelming excitment of all the players and coaches to be there," said head coach Scott Vandegrift. "No one has played since Fall 2019. It was like a giant family reunion."

"You can tell it has been a long time since we competed. The brightest point was Brady Erb," said Vandegrift. "Erb came back from injury and made a tremendous recovery. He is such a smart player and he came back and played phenomenal today. He leads by example and will lead us right into Charleston."
Ronnie Yanoski recorded his seventh career top-10 performance tying for 10th place in the 59-person field. Yanoski shot a 79 (+7) and 77 (+5) for a two round score of 156 (+12).

"The team played their hearts out and they know what they need to work on," said Vandegrift. "We have the talent, we just need to clean up our mistakes."
The Marauders return to tournament action next Sunday and Monday, March 28 and 30 at the Charleston Invitational in Charleston, West Virginia. The two-day tournament is hosted by the University of Charleston and is set to be held at the Berry Hills Country Club.
