LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Following the Marauders top-four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East regular season finish and PSAC Quarterfinal victory over No. 3 Kutztown, five members of the team earned All-PSAC East honors, as voted by the league's coaches. Lauren Downey, Savannah Rennix, and Morgan Winchock all received first team recognition. Paige Mancini and Emma Elwell earned second team honors.
Downey, a redshirt senior, was the only Marauder defender named to the East first team. She most recently converted a game-winning PK in Tuesday's PSAC Quarterfinal matchup against Kutztown in what has arguably been the biggest play for Millersville this season. The defender finished the season leading the Marauders in assists and ranking third in the PSAC with six and was second on the team in minutes with over 1,700, trailing only goalkeeper Reagan Kolinski. She is a former All-PSAC East Second Team selection as well.
Rennix, a junior, was selected to her first All-PSAC East team as a member of the first team. The forward has been extremely clutch throughout the year, scoring or assisting on five game-winning or game-tying goals. Her most recent game-winning goal came against Lock Haven on Oct. 13 when she broke a 2-2 tie with less than four minutes remaining in what ended up being a must win for Millersville. She finished the season second on the team in points (12), goals (4), shots on goal (13), and tied for second in assists with four.
Winchock, also a junior, was selected to her first All-PSAC East team as a member of the first team as well. The midfielder led Millersville on the offensive end throughout the year, leading the team in points (16), goals (7), shots on goal (27), and total shots (54). She also scored two game-winning goals this season, her most recent coming in the 84' of Millersville's playoff clinching win over East Stroudsburg on Nov. 3.
Elwell, a sophomore, and Mancini, a senior both received All-PSAC East second team recognition for their performances throughout the year. Elwell broke out towards the end of the year, recording six of her 10 points in the final four games of regular season play. She was awarded PSAC East Athlete of the week in that time for scoring two goals and assisting in a game-winning goal in one week of play. Mancini isn't a stranger to All-PSAC awards, as the senior was a previous All-PSAC East First Team selection and an All-PSAC Third team selection. She has been a leader on a defense that has only allowed three goals in the last five games and figures to continue contributing in large amounts as the Marauders head to the PSAC Semifinals.
Millersville will travel to Bloomsburg, Pa. to face off with No. 2 seed Gannon in the PSAC Semifinals for a chance at the first PSAC Finals appearance in program history. The match is slated the begin at 3 p.m.
