Cross country battles in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Competing in their largest event of the fall, Millersville cross country finished in 14th out of the 27 teams participating in the Women's College White 6k race. The race was a part of the 47th Annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University, featuring eight races across multiple NCAA Divisions. In total over 2,000 athletes participated during the day long event.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jillian Miller was the first Marauder to cross the finish line, taking 36th place with a time of 23:48.2.
The next Marauder to finish was Hali Wagner, who placed 74th at 24:28.5.
Other top 100 finishers included Samantha Foster (82nd 24:35.1) and Hannah Sweda (91st 24:41.0)

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Ville averaged 24:13 in the 6K race, finishing 53 seconds off the pace of race winner Daemen who averaged a time of 23:20.
A total of 247 runners competed in the main race against the Marauders.

"At a meet this size it's hard to overcome the loss of some of our top runners but the other women did a nice job of trying to fill those spots. I am especially happy to see the improvements of Hali, Sam and Hannah. We do need to get our team healthy and everyone running well together. We are definitely a bit of hit and miss on total team performance. If we can fix that, this team could improve dramatically at the PSAC Championships and beyond."
