
Four Marauders, cross country team earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Millersville University cross country team and four of its student-athletes have been recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their combined athletic and academic achievements.
The team was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the 18th time in the last 19 years while Emilea Alleman, Bri Pollock, Bella Ruefle and Olivia Sunderland earned individual All-Academic distinction. Alleman, Pollock and Sunderland are now two-time honorees in cross country.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers. Teams must produce a 3.0 GPA and compile a team score at the regional championship meet.
Millersville, led by head coach Andy Young, produced a 3.64 through the fall season. The Marauders placed 11th out of 23 teams at the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
Alleman, nuclear medicine major, owns a 3.43 cumulative GPA, and was Millersville's No. 3 finisher at the NCAA Atlantic Regional, placing 60th overall. Pollock, a pre-med major, boasts a 3.48 GPA. She earned All-PSAC honors during the cross country season and finished 32nd at the NCAA regional. Ruefle owns a 3.75 as an early childhood education major. She was Millersville's No. 5 runner at the regional, placing 84th overall. Sunderland has a 3.44 as a public relations major. Sunderland finished fourth on the team and 65th overall at the regional.
