Millersville, Pa. - Millersville football head coach J.C. Morgan continues to fill out the coaching staff for his first season. On Monday, he announced the addition of Chris Palubinsky and Kyle Regensburg. Both hires are intimately familiar with the PSAC East as Palubinsky comes to Millersville after playing quarterback at Bloomsburg, and Regensburg was most recently the strength and conditioning coach at Kutztown.
Palubinsky and Regensburg join a staff that is rooted in Central Pa. Along with Morgan, a graduate of Bucknell and coordinator at Shippensburg, defensive coordinator Matt Sutjak (Millersville) and Jeff Tomasetti (Shippensburg) both played and coached in the PSAC. Special teams coordinator Dan Beard coached at Shippensburg and Alvernia.
Palubinsky, who will coach the running backs in 2018, was a two-year starter under center at Bloomsburg and was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete in each of his five years on campus. In 2017, he started all 11 games, and his 10 rushing touchdowns were a school record for a quarterback.
"I am excited to have Chris start his coaching career here at Millersville," said Morgan. He assumed a major leadership role as a student-athlete at a successful program in our division. He is a true student of the game and has the passion for this profession that will allow him to fit in well with our coaching staff.
After earning a bachelor's degree in the spring of 2017, Palubinsky enrolled in graduate school for his final season on the field. He spent the spring semester as Bloomsburg's tight ends coach.
Regensburg, a 2015 graduate of Temple, will work closely with the football program while also consulting on the strength and conditioning efforts for all 19 of Millersville's intercollegiate athletic teams. He spent 2017-18 at Kutztown and previously worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Eastern University and Valley Forge. He played two seasons of football at Wilkes before transferring to Temple and walking on to the team in the spring of 2013.
"We are fortunate to have Kyle in our athletic department," said Morgan. "He will bring a tremendous amount of positive energy to our building on a daily basis and our student-athletes will respond well to his coaching. I look forward to watching him maximize the abilities of our student-athletes in our training facilities."
Millersville's 2018 season opens at home on Thursday, Aug. 30 against Pace. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
