
Men’s golf wins Alvernia Invitational

Mohnton, Pa. – The Millersville University men's golf team won the 2018 Alvernia Spring Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Legerock Golf Club with a score of 313. The Marauders earned the win with a three-shot advantage over second place Lebanon Valley College.
Sophomore John Devic led the team in scoring with a 4-over 76, tying for fourth place. Devic claimed his second top-10 finish of the season. Devic recorded a 1-over 37 front nine and then a 3-over 39 back nine and finished with a birdie on 18.
Sophomore Brady Erb recorded two shots more than Devic for a 6-over 78. Erb tied for sixth place. Redshirt junior Corey Betham posted a 7-over 79 in his fourth round of the season. Betham finished in a tie for 10th place.
Coming in fourth on the team, freshman Samuel Beauregard went into the clubhouse with an 8-over 80. His 80 got him in a tie for 12th place. Rounding out the team, redshirt senior Sean Ebert shot an 11-over 83 that tied for 18th.
Lebanon Valley's Tom Moran finished birdie-eagle on the final two holes to win low medalist by a stroke over PSU-Berks' Matt Kreider. Moran is the first two-time winner of the Alvernia Invitational.
The Marauders are now finished with the regular season tournament schedule and await qualification for the NCAA Super Regional, which is held Monday, May 7 at Glade Springs Golf Resort.
