
Women’s golf places third in ESU Invitational; Greene claims three-way tie for medalist

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – Junior Danielle Greene earned a three-way tie for first place in the East Stroudsburg Invitational Sunday at Glen Brook Golf Club. Millersville placed third with scores of 327-323 (650).
Greene shot a 6-over 78 in the first round and then improved by two shots in the final round to post a 4-over 76. Greene totaled 154. Lacey Bensing of West Chester and Jillian Jones of Kutztown had the same total scores after the two rounds. Greene claimed her second medalist of the season.
Freshman Belle Keopraseut ended the tournament with a total of 161 that tied for eighth. Keopraseut had an 8-over 80 in the first round and then recorded a 9-over 81 in the final round. Keopraseut posted her third top-10 performance this season.
Freshman Hannah Yanoski earned an 11th place finish by shooting 81-85. Sophomore Joelie Bennett jumped two spots on the leaderboard with a final round 9-over 81. Bennett began the invitational by totaling a 16-over 88 opening round. Bennett finished in a tie for 15th.
Rounding out the team, senior Alexa Strong utilized the Sunday weather and improved by four strokes. Strong finished the 18th hole on Sunday with a 13-over 85. Strong opened the tournament with a 17-over 89. Strong captured a tie for 19th.
The Marauders travel to their final tournament of the season, the Alvernia Invitational, on Tuesday, April 24. The tournament will be played at LedgeRock Golf Club.
