Women’s tennis loses to Usciences in final match of the season

Box Score Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women's tennis team ended its season Friday by narrowly losing to University of the Sciences 5-4 at McComsey Courts.

The Marauders started the match by winning two out of the three doubles matches. Millersville's No. 1 doubles, junior Katina Jones and freshman Megan Rovenolt, defeated Karla Miletic and Abbygail Gamarnick in a tiebreaker situation where they won 8-5 in the tiebreaker.

Freshman duo Victoria Hanus and Lauren Weaver picked up an 8-2 win in their No. 3 doubles match. Hanus and Weaver earned their fourth win of the season as a team.

Jones and Weaver claimed wins in their singles matches. At No. 1 singles, Jones defeated Karla Miletic 5-4 in the first set and then Miletic had to forfeit the second set due to an injury. The No. 6 single, Weaver, defeated Gabrielle Soriano, 6-0, 6-2. Weaver ended her freshman season on a three-match winning streak.
