
Greene tied for ninth; women’s golf finishes sixth at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational

West Chester, Pa. – Junior Danielle Greene finished tied for ninth after shooting an 81 and 83 in the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The Marauders placed sixth which ranked in the top-half of the competition.
Greene finished the first round tied for eighth after shooting an 81. Despite experiencing adversity during the second round, Greene still gutted out an 83 to earn her fifth top-10 finish this season.
Sophomore Joelie Bennett's two rounds were an inverse of Greene's. Bennett struggled during the first round, shooting an 87. However, she charged back in the second round, shooting four-shots better to finish with an 83. Bennett's improved second round earned her fifth top-20 finish this season.
Freshman Hannah Yanoski's tournament mirrored Bennett's. After shooting a 90 in the first round, Yanoski improved three strokes and shot an 87. Yanoski's improvement on day two moved her up the leaderboard six spots and finished tied 31st which ranked in the top-half of the competition.
Rounding out the finishes for the Marauders were senior Alexa Strong and freshman Belle Keopraseut. Strong averaged a 90 during the two rounds to finish 35th. Keopraseut shot and 88 in the first round and a 93 in the second round which tied for 36th,
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Kutztown won the tournament for the sixth time in nine years. Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison defended her title from last year and shot a 75 in the first round and a 77 in the second round to finish with a tournament-record 152.
The Marauders return to the links on Sunday, April 15 when they play in the East Stroudsburg Invitational at the Glenn Brook Country Club.
