
Licata, Miller, Washington and Strayer qualifies for PSACs at ESU Invite

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – Junior Gabriella Licata, sophomore Judith Miller, junior Amira Washington and sophomore Kirsten Strayer all hit Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship qualifying times in their events Saturday afternoon at the East Stroudsburg Invitational.
The Marauders finished their last meet of the regular season before PSAC Championships in a few weeks. The team has a total of 12 qualified swimmers--a school record. Eight out of the 10 swims by the Marauders on Saturday were season bests.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Washington broke the team's season best with a time of 25.27, placing in a tie for second. Washington was 0.62 faster than the PSAC time standard. Washington's time was the seventh-fastest in school history.
Strayer claimed the top spot on the podium in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:12.00. Strayer broke another season best in the 200-yard breaststroke and qualified for PSACs with a time of 2:34.05. Her time was four seconds faster than the PSAC time cut. Strayer placed second is now ranked the eighth fastest swimmer in program history in the event.
Licata got into the PSAC Championships nine seconds faster than the time cut. Licata placed second in the 400-yard individual medley to break her season best.
Miller recorded her career best 1:01.27 in the 100-yard butterfly. Miller's performance put her at the fourth fastest time in school history. Miller snapped her own season best and posted the top time of the team this season.
Freshman Rylan Tepe earned a season best in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:29.66. Tepe was a second faster than her previous season best.
With a new season best in the 50-yard freestyle, Taylour Mauro tapped the wall at 27.89. Mauro broke another of her season bests in the 100-yard freestyle. Mauro recorded a time of 1:01.35.
