GAME OVERVIEW

• Unlike their match up with Gannon, a match up with East Stroudsburg is a common occurrence for the Millersville Marauders. The teams are facing each other for the sixth time in less than two years. The Warriors have the current edge over the Marauders after an emphatic 82-53 victory in East Stroudsburg during the 2017 PSAC Quarterfinals. In that game, Noelle Powell lead all scorers with 20 points on 7-12 shooting while 2017-18 standout Imani Brown only scored six points in 19 minutes played. Powell has had a quiet 2017-18 season, but she is more than capable of another offensive explosion while Brown will figure to have a much bigger impact in this season's match up.
• Millersville returns to Pucillo Gymnasium after a difficult two game losing streak on the road at Lock Haven and Gannon. After a dominant long-distance shooting performance by Lock Haven, Millersville tightened up their defense and held one of the best three point shooting teams in the PSAC to only four made threes. However, Gannon was able to close out the game late with near perfect free throw shooting in the second half.
• Millersville's match up with East Stroudsburg is an important match up and has potentially major implications on the playoff picture. Five of Millersville's final nine games take place on the road, and with the team holding a 6-4 home record and a 2-5 away record, it is imperative that the Marauders rack up wins in their final games at Pucillo Gymnasium. More importantly, Millersville sits one game behind Kutztown for the third spot in the PSAC East and final home playoff spot. The Marauders have defeated the Golden Bears already this season and need to keep pace before their second match up at Kutztown on Valentine's Day.
• Senior Alayah Hall continues to help lead the way for both her team and in the conference. Hall's 16.5 points per game ranks first on the team and in the top-10 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Hall's ability to drive to the rim and make the occasional circus shot lay up has jumped her field goal percentage up to 43 percent. Hall's scoring will be pivotal against the Warriors who rank near the bottom in the PSAC in scoring defense.
• Junior Jade Farquhar is enjoying a career year after scoring more points in 17 games this season than she did in 26 last year. The guard has scored in double figures in five of the last six games and leads the team shooting 52 percent from the field (min. 20 fga).

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
• East Stroudsburg is a dominant offensive force in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Warriors have topped 80 points six times this season and 90 points three times this season. The team is averaging 74.3 points per game which ranks fifth in the conference behind the likes of No. 2 Indiana (Pa.) and No. 17 Edinboro. The fourth quarter is where the Warriors do their most damage as they outscored their opponents 323-266 so far this season.
• The Warriors present a similar match up problem for the Marauders that the Gannon Golden Knights did. East Stroudsburg ranks fifth in the conference in three point field goal percentage, one spot behind Gannon, while Millersville still ranks near the bottom of the conference in three point field goal defense. The Marauders held the Golden Knights to only 4-15 shooting from the three point line and only conceded one made three pointer after the first quarter. Millersville will need to replicate their defense to stifle East Stroudsburg's downtown shooting.
• Senior guard Imani Brown, who recently reached 1000 career points for the Warriors, will require the full attention of the Millersville defense. Brown ranks second in the PSAC with 20.3 points per game. So far this season she has scored in double figures in every game except one while also scoring 20 or more points in nine games and 30 or more points in two games. Brown is an efficient scorer shooting 42 percent from the field and is both a capable three point shooter and free throw shooter. Her versatility on the court has allowed her to, in addition to scoring, rack up seven rebounds per game as well as 2.6 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game. Brown has won PSAC East Athlete of the Week three times this season and has won the award seven times over her career.
