Marauders second half push not enough to get first PSAC win

EDINBORO, Pa. — The Millersville Marauders pushed Edinboro to the limit Saturday afternoon but came up just short in a 65–62 overtime loss to the Fighting Scots. The setback moves Millersville to 3– 4 on the season, while Edinboro improves to 5-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Millersville struggled to find an offensive rhythm early, scoring just eight points in each of the first two quarters and trailing 29–16 at halftime. The Marauders shot 4-for-17 from the field in the opening half and were held without a three-pointer through the first two quarters.

Despite the slow start, Millersville responded with a strong second-half push. The Marauders outscored Edinboro 17–10 in the third quarter and continued the momentum into the fourth, where they put up 20 points to force overtime. Millersville shot 44.4% from the field in the fourth quarter and knocked down three three-pointers to erase the deficit.

Rhyan Mitchell led the Marauders with 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Daniella Ranieli finished with 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting, including two three-pointers, while adding three rebounds and two assists. Aniya Eberhart provided a spark off the bench, scoring nine points on 3-for-4 shooting, having three steals, and grabbing four rebounds.

Millersville held a slight rebounding edge, 43–40, and collected 14 offensive boards, creating multiple second-chance opportunities. Morgan Mahoney added six points and eight rebounds, while contributing three assists.

The game remained tight in overtime, with both teams trading baskets back and forth. Millersville scored nine points in the extra period but was unable to overcome Edinboro's 12 points. The Marauders finished the game shooting 34.5% from the field and 31.3% from three-point range, while Edinboro shot 37.9% overall.
