GAME OVERVIEW
• The Marauders returned to Pucillo Gymnasium after the holidays hungry for another win. Despite sub-freezing temperatures and the Millersville borough coated in snow, the Marauder offense heated up against the Cheyney Wolves.
• The Marauders put together a 37-13 run starting with a minute left in the first quarter, and Millersville took a 26 point lead into the locker room at half.
• Millersville's top four scorers in that contest all hit double-figures while shooting at or above 50 percent from the field. Senior Alayah Hall lead the team with 19 points while freshman standout
Lauren Lister finished second with 14 points on 83 percent shooting. Redshirt junior
Janelle Robinson scored 13 points on 75 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent shooting from the three point line. Sophomore
Courtney Dimoff rounded off with 12 points on 5-8 shooting. The team as a whole shot over 50 percent from the field for a majority of the contest and finished the game with 47 percent shooting.
• During the current two game winning streak, Hall has scored 33 points on 10-19 shooting. Even better, the point guard is getting to the free throw line and shooting 9-10 in the two contests. On the defensive end, Hall has complimented her offensive play with nine rebounds and eight steals. Against Cheyney, Hall played some of her best basketball while only spending 26 minutes on the court. Her stat line was efficient and she earned some rest on the bench to keep her legs fresh for West Chester.
• Lister is a great compliment off the bench for the Marauder starters. The freshman guard combined for 30 points during this winning streak on 9-14 shooting. Like Hall, Lister is getting to the line often and taking advantage of the charity stripe as she has shot 12-13 in two games. On the season, Lister has scored in double figures in five contests while only averaging 20.5 minutes per game. As she continues to acclimate to collegiate basketball, she has an opportunity to cut down on turnovers and improve her assist-to-turnover ratio to become an incredibly efficient player for Head Coach
Mary Fleig.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMS
• The Golden Rams started the season with a 6-4 record along with a 3-3 record in the PSAC. West Chester currently ranks second in the PSAC East behind only East Stroudsburg. WCU defends Hollinger Field House well as they sport a 4-2 record at home. Away from home, the Golden Rams are more susceptible for an upset as they sport a 2-2 record.
• WCU is an offensive juggernaut that ranks second in the conference behind only nationally-ranked Edinboro with 81.3 points per game. Making the Golden Rams more dangerous is their efficiency. Head Coach Kiera Wooden has her team firing on all cylinders as they rank second in the conference behind only nationally-ranked Indiana (Pa.) with a 46 percent field goal shooting percentage.
• Millersville will face one of its toughest challenges yet in Porscha Speller. She ranks first on the team in scoring with 20.9 points per game. Not only is Speller leading her team, she is also one of the leaders in the conference as she ranks fourth in the conference in scoring despite playing two less games than the first and third ranked players.
