
Sheehan goes low for men’s golf to place third

Daniels, W.Va. – Senior Connor Sheehan tied for second place at the Glade Springs Intercollegiate Championship to help Millersville tie for third as a team.
The third round was cancelled because of rain so the event was classified as a two round tournament. All 36 holes were played on Monday.
Sheehan came into the clubhouse at 1-over 73 for the first round and then posted a 72 in his second 18 of the day. Junior Matt Keim recorded scores of 75-77 for an 8-over-par total to claim a tie for 14th place.
Sophomore Brady Erb tied for 30th position with an 11-over performance in which he shot scores of 77 and 78. Senior Mitchell Burns had a three shot improvement from round one and posted a 78 in the second round, tying for 52nd position. One position above Burns, sophomore John Devic finished with rounds of 80-78 (158).
Host Charleston won the tournament by posting a 299 including a 4-over 292 for the final round. Justin Westveer, who went in the red numbers for both days, shot two rounds of 3-under 69. Westveer won the individual medalist for the event. Second place in the team competition, Davis & Elkins College finished 14 shots off Charleston, recording a 299-306.
Millersville takes a week off to prepare for the Hal Hansen Invitational on Monday, Sept. 17.
