
Ebert and Burns shoot final round 74 to lead men’s golf to tie for second

Dubios, Pa. – The Millersville men's golf team captured a tie for second place in the two-round Hal Hansen Invitational hosted by Clarion University. Millersville finished only one stroke behind the winner, West Liberty.
The Marauders recorded a 302 in the first round with a four shot improvement (298) in the second round to total 600. West Liberty had 599 (298-301) to take the win. Indiana University of Pa., posted a 7-over combined final round to tie with Millersville in second place.
Four Marauders shot a score under 75 in at least one of their two rounds.
Redshirt junior Sean Ebert posted two 2-over 74's to lead the team while tying for fifth. One stroke higher, senior Mitchell Burns finished in seventh place with rounds of 75-74.
In his second tournament of the season, sophomore Brady Erb established a first round 5-over 77 and finished with a 75 to tie for 16th. Senior Connor Sheehan opened with a 79 but improved in his final round for a with a 3-over 75 to end the event at 154, tied for 24th.
By shooting an opening round 4-over 76, junior Matt Keim rounded out the squad with a 157 and tied for 33rd.
The medalist of the Hal Hansen Invitational was Nathan Guerrini of IUP, who shot a final round 2-under 70. West Liberty's Cory Hoshor had the first round lead coming off a 1-under 71 and shot a final round 3-over 74. Hoshor finished tied for second place.
The Marauders return to the course on Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Mercyhurst Invitational.
