Marauders pile up top finishes at WCU Invitational

West Chester, Pennsylvania - Another strong showing for the Millersville throwers and top finishes from Kay Liebl (long jump) Erin Harman (pole vault) and Courtney Ingold (100-meter dash) highlighted the Marauders' day at the WCU Invitational.
Three Marauders finished in the top five in the discus. Sunflower Greene led the way with a season-best toss of 138-2, which places her third in the PSAC. Madison Martin took second, and Stephanie Garner placed fifth. Garner (fourth) and Martin (sixth) were among four Marauders to place in the top six in the hammer throw. Amanda Myers won the event with a season-best mark of 153-5. Deja Loose took second in the hammer. Myers also won the javelin, posting a toss of 135-10.
A week after her PSAC record-setting throw in the shot put, Greene finished second Saturday but first among collegiate competitors, hitting 47-1 1/2 for the second-best mark in the PSAC this year only matched by her 49-2 1/2 from last week.
Erin Harman won the pole vault at 11-2 1/4, just edging her previous season best. Kay Liebl smashed her previous career-best in the long jump and posted the eighth-best jump in the PSAC this year at 17-9 1/2. She took first place and teammate Brianna Doherty placed second.
The Millersville sprinters were led by Courtney Ingold's first-place finish in 100-meter dash with a season-best time of 12.55, edging West Chester's Alyson Hall by .02 seconds. Clara Forney placed second in the 200-meter dash with a PSAC qualifying time of 25.92
Both Ingold and Forney helped the 4x100-meter relay team to first place by nearly three full seconds, posting a time of 48.72. The 4x400-meter relay team posted the eighth-fastest PSAC time this season at 4:02.75.
A contingent of Marauders will compete at the Kutztown Multis on Friday, April 14, and the majority of the team will compete Saturday, April 15 at Bucknell's Bison Open.
