
Tropp hits PR, throwers begin competition at Bucknell

Lewisburg, Pennsylvania - The Millersville University women's track and field team began competition at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic while Madie Tropp and Arielle Stigelman competed at the Kutztown Multis Friday.
Tropp competed in the heptathlon for the first time this season and recorded a career-high 3,697 points, placing her 13th in the field of 22 athletes. Tropp placed second in the 100-meter hurdles, running a PSAC Championships qualifying and career-best time of 15.32. She also accumulated 652 points in the 200-meter dash, placing third out of all athletes. Stigelman took 20th place, with her top finish coming in the 200 where she totaled 590 points.
At Bucknell University, the Millersville throwers opened the weekend of competition against a deep field which included athletes from the Division I, II and III ranks.
Amanda Myers was the top place-winner, earning fourth in the javelin with a throw of 145-8. She was the top finisher among PSAC competitors and placed behind athletes from Bucknell, Lehigh and Susquehanna.
In the discus, Sunflower Greene was third among PSAC athletes and ninth overall, hitting 135-10. Madison Martin placed 13th at 130-2.
Millersville's track athletes, long jumpers, pole vaulters and throwers in the shot put and hammer will be in action Saturday at Bucknell.
