
Sheehan ties for first as Millersville finishes third at Oglebay Resort

Wheeling, West Virginia -- Junior Connor Sheehan surged three spots in the second round to tie for first but lost in a playoff as Millersville tied for third at the Oglebay Resort Intercollegiate Monday.
Sheehan ended the first round in fourth place after shooting 2-under-par for a 69. During the second round, Sheehan shot up the remaining leader board spots after shooting a 68. Sheehan ultimately lost in a three-way playoff after five holes. This was Sheehan's third first-place finish.
Sophomore Matt Keim enjoyed an impressive comeback on the second day. After shooting 5-over-par and finishing 31st day one, Keim shot even par and rose twelve spots to finish tied for 19th. This was Keim's third top-25 finish of the year.
Sohpomore Matt Spak also launched up the leader boards on the second day. He shot a 77 during the first round, but he then shot a 72 during the second round to jump 11 spots and finish tied for 27th.
The men's golf team followed the trajectory of the players. The team shot a combined 296 on the first day but rallied and shot 286 on the second day. The team jumped from sixth to third with the 10-shot turn around.
The men's golf team returns to the course April 9 at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational in West Chester, Pa.
