
Marauders sweep throwing events, Greene sets meet record

East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania - Millersville swept the throwing events with first-place finishes in the hammer, javelin, discus and shot put, and Sunflower Greene set a meet record in the shot put at Saturday's All-American Invitational.
The Millersville throwers were dominant again with Greene winning two events, Amanda Myers winning the javelin and Deja Loose winning the hammer.
The hammer throw belonged to the Marauders as Deja Loose, Amanda Myers and Stephanie Garner finished 1-2-3. Loose hit 153-7 while Myers finished at 148-9 and Garner at 137-0.
Greene pulled off a double by winning the discus and shot put. Her 137-8 toss in the discus was just eight inches shy of her season best. Freshman Madison Martin took second at 131-2.
In the shot put, Greene's 45-7 3/4 was two feet further than the runner-up and it set a meet record. Martin placed fifth with a PSAC Championships qualifying distance of 37-11 1/2.
Myers won the javelin for the third time this season with a throw of 143-5. The toss was 11-4 better than the runner-up.
The Millersville relay teams also had a strong showing. The 4x400-meter relay team of Courtney Ingold, Aniya Gibbs, Kay Liebl and Clara Forney placed first with a season-best time of 3:59.90. The quartet won the event by more than four seconds over Bloomsburg.
Brianna Doherty, Forney, Liebl and Ingold teamed for a second place finish in the 4x100-meter relay, running a time of 48.89 and finishing just .34 behind first place East Stroudsburg.
Ingold also ran a season-best time of 12.53 and posted a runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash. Gibbs' 59.78 was good for third place in the 400-meter dash.
Erin Harman hit 11-1 3/4 in the pole vault to finish third.
Millersville has the Penn Relays on April 27 and the Paul Kaiser Invitational at Shippensburg on April 29.
