Greene smashes hammer throw record

Lewisburg, Pennsylvania - Sunflower Greene continued her impressive sophomore season, winning the hammer throw at Saturday's Bucknell Outdoor Classic with school record and NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark.
Greene's toss of 183-9 eclipsed Vanessa Hower's 2016 record of 179-11 by nearly four feet. Greene already owned the top mark in the PSAC this season and distanced herself from the pack, now leading teammate Deja Loose, who set a personal best mark of 168-0 and finished fourth on Saturday.
Greene has now set outdoor school records in the shot put and hammer.
Loose also hit a PR in the shot put at 39-2 1/4 and placed 16th. Freshman Madison Martin also recorded a PSAC qualifying mark at 36-5.
Courtney Ingold placed 17th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.62. Aniya Gibbs ran a PSAC Championships qualifying time of 59.20 and placed 22nd in the 400-meter dash.
The 4x100-meter relay team posted a season-best time of 48.51 and placed 10th, fifth among PSAC teams.
