
Greene finishes fifth as Millersville places eighth at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invite

West Chester, Pennsylvania -- Sophomore Danielle Greene finished fifth as the Millersville women's golf team finished eighth at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational Monday.
Greene shot an 81 in the first round and an 83 in the second round. Greene entered the second round in sixth place, and outlasted two other golfers to move up the leaderboard. Senior Danielle Freed shot an 87 in the first round, but she rallied during the second round and shot an 84 to move up nine places on the leaderboard to finish tied for 11th. Junior Alexa Strong struggled during the first round and shot a 104. Strong roared back on the second day finishing 13 strokes better and moving up 14 spots on the leaderboard.
The Millersville women's golf team's final tournament is April 23-24 at the East Stroudsburg University Spring Golf Invitational in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
