Rising Sun, Maryland -- Sophomore Danielle Greene tied for second and senior Danielle Freed tied for eighth as the Millersville women's golf team tied for sixth with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Kutztown University at the Battle of the Bay tournament held by Eastern University Monday.

Greene stumbled during the first round shooting an 82 but rallied in the second round and shot a 77. Greene finished 17 shots over par and one shot behind first place. Freed was a model of consistency as she shot an 82 in both rounds to finish 22 over par. Freshman Joelie Bennett netted another top-50 finish this season. She had a difficult first round as she shot a 96, but she turned it around on the second day an 88 to finish tied for 41st. Junior Alexa Strong also posted a top-50 finish as she shot near her season average posting a 92 in round one and a 96 in round two. Rounding out the day for the Marauders was freshman Hailea Yocum who shot two rounds below her season average.

The Millersville women's golf team returns to the links Sun. April 2 when they host the Millersville Invitational at Tanglewood Manor Golf Course in Quarryville, Pa.
