
Millersville throwers dominate Golden Ram Invitational

West Chester, Pennsylvania - The Millersville throwers stole the show at Saturday's Golden Ram Invitational, scoring three top-six finishes in the shot put, three in the top-four in the discus and five in the top-six in the hammer.
Sunflower Greene took first place in the discus and hammer and was runner-up in the shot put. Her top discus mark hit 135-11. In the hammer, Greene's 176-0 was 16 feet longer than the runner-up Deja Loose and 10 feet better than her 2016 best. Greene's second-place performance in the shot put landed at 45-0 1/2.
Along with her runner-up finish in the hammer, Loose's 37-8 in the shot put was good for fourth. Madison Martin went for 37-2 3/4 and took sixth in her outdoor shot put debut. Martin was the runner-up behind Greene in the discus, launching the discus 130-4. She took fifth in the hammer throw at 141-2. Stephanie Garner placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 116-10 and placed sixth in the hammer.
Amanda Myers turned in an impressive afternoon as well. The two-time national qualifier in the javelin took first-place in the event Saturday with a throw of 140-6. She also placed third in the hammer throw, setting a personal best mark at 148-7. Megan Seibert added a third-place finish in the javelin.
Greene, Loose and Martin qualified for the PSAC Championships in the shot put. Greene and Martin qualified in the discus. Greene, Loose, Myers and Martin qualified in the hammer, and in the javelin, Myers hit a qualifying mark.
Millersville's 4x100-meter relay team of Brianna Doherty, Clara Forney, Emonie Reviere and Kay Liebl raced to a first-place finish with a time of 48.93. Madie Tropp turned in a 15.97 in the 100-meter hurdles, placing seventh. Courtney Ingold placed second in the 200-meter dash. Her 25.77 was a PSAC qualifier.
All-PSAC Indoor performer Erin Harman opened her outdoor season by tying for first in the pole vault 11-1 3/4. That height qualified her for the PSAC Championships.
Doherty was just edged in the long jump. The freshman hit a mark of 17-6 1/2 while the winner, West Chester's Sarah Kosenske hit 11-7 3/4. Kay Liebl finished in fourth place. Both long jumpers hit PSAC qualifying marks.
Millersville hosts the Millersville Metrics on April 1. It is the team's only home meet of the season.
