
Greene, Forney, Gibbs score for Marauders at PSAC Championships

Erie, Pennsylvania - Using an All-PSAC performance from Sunflower Greene and top-eight finishes from Aniya Gibbs and Clara Forney, the Millersville women's track and field team placed 12th at the PSAC Indoor Championships.
Greene became Millersville's first All-PSAC indoor performer in the shot put by finishing in third place. On her sixth and final attempt, Greene hit 46-6. She finished behind Shippensburg's Tamara Onejera and Cheyney's Jada Phillips. Greene finished the meet as one of four throwers to finish in the top eight in both the shot put and weight throw.
Forney entered the weekend seeded 21st but pulled off a season-best time in the prelims to reach the top eight and qualify for the finals. On Sunday, Forney posted a 25.81, landing her sixth. It was the first time she had reached the finals in an individual event at the indoor championships.
Gibbs placed third in the 400 at the 2014 indoor championships and became a two-point point scorer with a sixth-place finish Sunday. Gibbs' 58.48 was a season-best time.
The Marauders finished with 18 points. Shippensburg won the team crown, edging Bloomsburg by four points, 115-111.
