Millersville, Pennsylvania - Despite wins from senior David Charles and Seth Decker, Franklin & Marshall beat Millersville 31-9 in Thursday's Battle for the Rupp Cup.

The Marauders were able to pick up two victories in the match, one of them by pinfall. The fall came from Decker in the 157-pound weight class, Decker's match rapidly took a turn in his advantage. He was able to pin Emmett LiCastri in 2:32. The win cut F&M's lead to 11-9 at the time.

Decker was preceded by 149-pounder David Charles, who picked up the first win of the day for the Marauders in an 8-5 decision. In a high scoring first period, Charles jumped out to a 5-3 lead. In the second period Charles tacked on one more point for an escape, and he finished the job with a late takedown in the third episode to go up 8-4 at the time. Charles allowed only more point and held on for the win to get Millersville on the board.

285-pound Zachary Yackenchick of Millersville was in one of the most competitive matches of the dual, facing Jack Argast . Yackenchick led 8-6 until the final seconds, when Argast earned a takedown with four seconds left to tie the score at 8-8. In the sudden victory round, Argast was able to takedown Yackenchick to win, 10-8.  

Trenton Cook looked like he would steal a win for Millersville at 174 pounds, as he led at the end of the first, 2-1. A reversal by Jimmy Stillerman broke 2-2 tie with 10 seconds remaining in the second period, and he kept the momentum going, winning the match, 13-5.

The loss is Millersville's fourth in a row, and drops the Marauders to 2-8 on the year in what was their final contest of the regular season.

The next event for Millersville is the NCAA Super Region 1 Championships, which take place in Erie, Pa on Feb. 24-25.
