MATCH OVERVIEW
• Millersville is coming off a finish at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational Saturday, Nov. 11 in which five wrestlers placed in their respectable weight classes.
• The Marauders started off its season with a 25-24 victory over Wilkes. That match was head coach
Kerry Regner's first competition as the Marauders' boss.
• At W&J, redshirt junior
Alex Baider won the 133-pound class by winning three consecutive matches. In the 197 weight class, junior
Colton Dull took runner-up.
• Baider has not lost a bout this season going a team-best 4-0. Senior
D.J. Mele and Dull both have an overall record of 4-1.
•
Aaron Wildonger pinned W&J's Daniel Forentino in the first round and then claimed a 10-7 decision win to advance to the semifinal in the 125-pound weight class.
• The matchup between the Marauders and the Griffins goes back three seasons when Millersville won its first match against Seton Hill, 22-14. The Griffins claimed victory in 2014-15 season, 22-15. Last year the Griffins, ranked 11th at the time, won a close 20-19 decision.
• This match begins the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
• Baider and Seton Hill's Rodney Sunday competed in the 2014 match when Baider won in a 5-3 decision.
• Dull and Jack Temple will have a rematch of the 11-3 major decision won by Temple in the PSAC Championships last season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• No. 6-ranked redshirt junior Joey Alessandro was the runner-up in the PSAC Championship 141 weight class.
• The Griffins come to Millersville for their first dual match of the season.
• Four Seton Hill Griffins were nationally ranked in the preseason NCAA Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Poll. Former All-American Alan Diltz placed third in the 125-pound weight class. Alessandro enters this season ranked sixth at 141 pounds. Billy Bowlen is ranked 10th at 184 pounds while Zach Voytek is 12th in the 165-pound weight class.
• The Griffins traveled to Mount Union Invitational for its season opener last weekend. Four wrestlers placed.
• Last season, Seton Hill's Tyler Kenney (133) and Joseph Alessando (141) recorded technical falls in the dual match against Millersville.
