GAME OVERVIEW
• Last year when Millersville took on Bloomsburg it was a completely different situation than this season. The Marauders were on the bubble heading into the PSAC Tournament in the prior instance, and Millersville beat the Huskies 2-0. As these two teams are poised to play again in 2017, things are far different from last season. It was Millersville's win over Bloomsburg that started its incredible PSAC Championship run in 2016. Now, Bloomsburg comes to Millersville to face a red-hot Marauder squad that has won eight straight games.
• The eight game streak is almost an undersell of what Millersville has done as of late. Yes, eight is great; but what is even better is how the Marauders have done it. For starters, goalkeeper
Kylee Bair and the rest of Marauders have not allowed a single goal in those eight games. If the Marauders hold Bloomsburg scoreless on Tuesday, it will tie a Millersville record for most consecutive shutouts. It has been 620 minutes since the Marauders have surrendered a goal. During the winning streak, Millersville have outscored their opponents 20-0.
• Millersville has enjoyed well-rounded efforts all season long. After starting 3-3 and allowing 11 goals in those six games, the Marauders have really shown their versatility. For example, in the last game, which was a win over Mansfield, Millersville controlled several aspects of the game. ESU attempted only two shots on goal while Millersville controlled possession. The goals came from
Erica Tarsi, who scores all the time-leading the team with eight this year; and
Emma Boutcher, who scored her third goal of the season and second in two games. The Marauders' balance is evident as six different players have scored game-winning goals.
• Millersville has climbed to No. 2 in Division II in goals against average, allowing just 0.75 per game. Millersville's recent run has also pushed it to No. 1 in the country in shutouts with nine. Millersville's goalkeepers have climbed to No. 3 in Division II in saves percentage.
ABOUT THE SERIES
• Millersville has defeated Bloomsburg eight times in a row. No one would have been able to predict this years ago as the record between the two stood at 31-0-2 in favor of Bloomsburg from 1990-2012. In Millersville's current stretch, three of eight wins have come in overtime. Millersville last season's games by scores of 2-0 and 2-1.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
