
Myers, Greene, Gibbs lead Marauders on day two of Bison Open

Lewisburg, Pa. - Sunflower Greene and Amanda Myers posted personal bests and top-five finishes in the weight throw, leading Millersville on day two of the Bison Open. Aniya Gibbs also added a top-five finish in the 400-meter dash.
Greene took fourth place with a toss of 50-5 1/4 and Myers was closed behind in fifth with a mark of 49-11 3/4. The Marauder duo finished behind two PSAC throwers and ahead of 14 others in the 34-athlete field. Greene's toss was nearly four feet longer than her previous season best, making her one of five PSAC throwers to go over than 50 feet this season. Myers, who entered the meet with the PSAC's fifth-best mark this season, improved her PR by 3/4 of an inch.
Coming off a season-best time at the NYC Gotham Cup, Gibbs turned in a time of 1:00.35 in Saturday's 400, which landed her in fifth place. Clara Forney placed 19th with a time of 1:01.92, missing a season-best time by less than an second. Forney was also one of five Marauders to compete in the 60-meter dash. She placed 19th, just missing a PSAC Championships qualifying time with an 8.16. Brianna Doherty set a season-best time in the event and posted a PSAC Championships qualifying mark at 8.12. She placed 17th in the 64-runner field.
In the triple jump, Katy Alberici hit a season-best mark with a jump of 36-1 1/2.
Millersville next travels to Selinsgrove for the Crusader Open on Feb. 3.
