Staten Island, New York - Millersville University women's indoor track and field returned to action for the first time in more than a month and wasted no time posting some of the top marks and times of the season. At Friday's NYC Gotham Cup, Millersville added seven new PSAC Championship qualifiers, and Sunflower Greene placed second in the shot put.
In a field of 53 entries from the Division I, II and III ranks, Greene hit a mark of 44-9 in the shot put. Greene already owned the PSAC's best mark this season at 47-8. Also in the throwing events, Amanda Myers turned in a strong sixth-place finish among 36 entries in the weight throw, with a toss of 48-7 1/2. Teammate Madison Martin joined the ranks of PSAC qualifiers with best mark of the season at 42-0 3/4, placing 21st.
Among the new PSAC qualifiers was Aniya Gibbs, who hit marks in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Gibbs posted a 59.48, which entering Friday would stand as the PSAC's sixth-fastest time this season. She placed 19th in an 87-runner field. Gibbs also placed 28th in the 200 with a season-best time of 26.42. Clara Forney was Millersville's top finisher in the event, taking 22nd with a PSAC qualifying time of 26.29.
