Millersville, Pennsylvania - The Millersville wrestling team hosted the 14th annual "Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic Saturday, and 11 Marauders took to the mats. Junior 285-pounder
David Wuestner made the deepest run of any Marauder, reaching the consolation semifinals.
Wuestner placed fourth at the tournament one year ago, and came within one win of the third-place bout again. After dropping his first match by fall to Jason Wood of Lehigh, Wuestner rallied through the consolation bracket with four consecutive wins, including a third-period pin over Old Dominion's Eric Hall. Wuestner was eventually bounced in the consolation semifinals by Navy's Michael Smith.

Shane Ruhnke also made a charge through the consolation bracket, reaching the quarterfinals and posting a 4-2 record on the afternoon. Ruhnke lost his opening bout to Old Dominion's Abner Romero, who eventually reached the third-place match. Ruhnke answered with four consecutive wins including two pins. The second of which came over Maryland's Brendan Burnham in just 37 seconds.
A trio of Marauders at 125 pounds all won at least one match.
Connor Sheehan opened his day with an 11-1 major decision.
Austin Camacci dropped his first match to eventual champion Kyle Adkins of Buffalo. Camcci won his next two matches, winning one by fall and then topping teammate
Aaron Wildonger, 16-10. He finished 2-2 on the day. Wildonger went 1-2, scoring one 16-0 technical fall.Â

Millersville returns to dual action on Jan. 20, taking on Super Region 1 foes American International and LIU Post at Kutztown.
