Madison Falls Just Shy of NCAA Championship Finals

Bradenton, Fl. - Erin Madison of the Millersville women's track and field team fell .24 seconds shy Thursday of advancing to the finals in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships. Madison, a second team All-American and senior, ran a 1:00.37 which was her fastest time of 2016.
Madison, who was seeded 15th going into the race, has competed in the 400-meter hurdles for three straight years and in 2015 became the first ever Millersville hurdler to make All-American status during the outdoor season. Madison ran a 1:00.80 in the 2015 NCAA Championships and recorded her fastest time of 2016 on April 16 in the Bison Invivational when she ran 1:00.50.
Madison's fastest time ever in the 400-meter hurdles came in 2015 when she registered a time of 59.77 in the Alleghany Gator Invite. Despite not making the finals Saturday, Madison had an extremely successful senior season, winning track and overall MVP and accounting for 36 points for Millersville in the PSAC Championships.
Millersville still has one participant left in the 2016 NCAA Championships as Amanda Myers will throw the javelin Saturday at 2:25 p.m.
