
Greene, Hower with Strong Outings at Shippensburg

Shippensburg, Pa. - Sunflower Greene continued her impressive freshman season at the Shippensburg 4-Way Invitational, breaking a Millersville school record and notching an NCAA provisional in the shot put. Along with Greene, Vanessa Hower continued her strong outdoor season by placing first in the hammer throw.
Greene threw a 13.81 meters in the shot put which placed her second overall in the event. Greene also had a strong showing in the hammer throw, registering a distance of 50.77 meters and finishing third overall. It was Hower who dominated the hammer throw with a toss of 53.86 meters mark to take home first place. Olivia Misner finished sixth overall in the event with a distance of 43.41 meters.
Erin Harman reached a height of 3.60 meters in the pole vault and finished third overall in the event. Millersville did not bring its sprinters to the invitational, but Taylor Mauro ran a 5.08.32 in the 1500-meter run to place seventh overall in the event.
Millersville will compete Saturday at the East Stroudsburg All-American Meet which kicks off at 10 a.m.
