Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville track and field team will have its lone home meet to the 2016 spring season Saturday with the 34th annual Millersville Metrics takes place at Biemesderfer Stadium.

In last year's Millersville Metrics, the Marauders scored 108.5 points and finished an impressive second place out of 20 teams.

Millersville earned five first place finishes in 2015 including now senior Kiara Allen who recorded a time of 12.02 in the 100-meter dash. Allen was also part of the 4x100 relay that placed first with at time of 49.45. Fellow senior Erin Madison placed first in the 400-meter hurdles running a 1:04.43. In the 800-meter run, Amadna Long clocked in with a time of 2:23.47 to win the event by over a second.

In the field events, Vanessa Hower tossed a 49.30 in the hammer throw to earn third place in the event. Teammates Rebecca Grube, Olivia Misner, and Amanda Myers finished 12th, 13th, and 18th respectively in the event.

Arianna Camel fared well in the high jump, notching a 1.58 mark and placing third overall while Erin Harman placed fifth in the pole vault with a top height of 3.35 meters. Then a freshman along with Harman, Amanda Myers placed second in the javelin throw, tossing a staggering 42.36 meters.

Saturday's meet marks the third outdoor event of the season for the Marauders who had a strong showing at the season-opening 49er Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. Amanda Myers picked up right where she left off, placing first in the javelin with an NCAA provisional toss of 43.72 meters. Senior Erin Madison registered a 1:01.64 in the 400-meter hurdles which earned her fourth in the event and an NCAA provisional time. In the York College Twilight Meet, Vanessa Hower placed first with a 37.02 toss in the discuss. Sunflower Greene and Rebecca Grube also had good showings finishing fourth and sixth respectively. Greene placed first in the shot put with a mark of 12.32 meters.

The event is scheduled to compete in the Millersville Metrics which is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
